the old rectory
the old rectory, easkey
I stayed here for two weeks, my first wwoofing stint.
picking berries, pulling weeds,
planting and cutting and clearing.
it was perfect.
lunches in the courtyard when it was sunny
great dinners
cats dogs and hens making their rounds all over the place.
in my free time when I wasn't down at the beach or in the village I would sit in the garden and read.
the hosts were the definition of generous
and I got along with my fellow wwoofer
since there is not much to do in the village at night we would stay in, watch a movie and compare and contrast American junk food vs. European.
biscuits vs. cookies.
and seeing how ireland is pretty keen on their potatoes, they have never heard of tater tots.
the house is located on two acres
which includes two gardens, an orchard, coach house, main house and a workshop.
the owners open the garden to the public about once a month,
I consider myself lucky to have been able to stay here and meet some great people
and i kind of wish I could have stayed here for my whole trip.
